Aug 14, 2017· Nations worldwide recognise coal to be an expensive and polluting way to generate energy. Despite growing support for alternative, cleaner sources of power such as wind, solar, and natural gas, Kenya intends to build a coal-fired power plant
May 24, 2017· Kenya is set to start building a giant coal-fired power station at Manda Bay near the port city of Lamu following the signing of a $1.9bn agreement between Amu Power and China Power Global. Using the latest supercritical technology, the 1GW plant is expected to boost Kenya’s generating capacity by 40%.
This technology generates electricity by burning coal and fuel. To reduce the environmental impact of these plants, Naturgy is researching solutions to capture and store the CO2 emitted by its thermal plants. GPG has a total of 189,5 MW in thermal power plants in the Dominican Republic and Kenya.
Coal, which is imported, is burnt during the inter-crop season. These 2 fuels share properties that allow the thermal plant to function with both combustibles without mechanical or structural alterations. When compared to traditional power plants, Omnicane's cogeneration plant reaches an efficiency of 80%.
Heat energy We have 2,320 megawatt (MW) centrales térmicas of thermal power plants around the world that produce electricity by burning coal and fuel. In order to reduce the environmental impact of these plants and guarantee their safety and quality, we research solutions to capture and store the CO 2 they emit and reduce the water consumption required for their operation.
